There’s nothing quite like a series that just grabs hold of you and pulls you into adventure with every turn of the page.
Review: Emperor of Thorns
You want to know how to end a series? THIS is how you end a series.
Monthly Wrap: January 2021
Well, January's already over, and if I can say nothing else about this new year, it's that it's off to a really great start... in terms of the books I've read at least.
Review: Spellbreaker
Well, I may be posting this review waaaaaaay later than I intended, but at least I can say that Spellbreaker is certainly worth the wait.
Review: Crown of One Hundred Kings
I was really excited to start this book when I picked it up, and the summary sounded so tense and full of intrigue and drama. Unfortunately, things are rarely as good as we build them up to be in our heads.
Review: Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff
It’s rare that I find a book I don't like - as you might be able to tell from previous reviews - but it’s even rarer for me to find a story that I want to read again, and again, and again! And Stormdancer is absolutely the latter.
Review: Red Sister by Mark Lawrence
I may have been introduced to Mark Lawrence in spectacular, brutal fashion with his Broken Empire trilogy, but Red Sister proves that the man can create truly compelling, emotionally gripping stories - and he doesn’t need shock value to keep his readers hooked.
Review: A Touch of Death by Rebecca Crunden
Thank you very much to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Review: The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
This book was really, really hyped up for me. I heard all about how incredible it was, even before I managed to get my hands on a copy, and that made me nervous...
Review: The Reluctant Queen by Sarah Beth Durst
Hey, remember my review of the first book in this series? When I said it had some interesting worldbuilding, but was ultimately a pretty dull story with no compelling characters or stakes to carry it? Remember when I basically called it a boring read and wasn’t super thrilled about reading the rest of the series? Well take all that nonsense and chuck it right out the nearest window! Because this series just shattered all my expectations.
