Monthly Wrap – November 2021

Well it’s already been December for a while now, which means it’s the perfect time to look back at what I managed to accomplish in November. Punctual, as usual on this blog.

To start us off, I want to send out another huge shout out to everyone who took the time to read my reviews and check out this site. Seeing that people are engaging with my content is honestly so amazing to me, and it keeps me going on this fun little journey. So thank you for being a part of this.

And now, that’s enough of that sentimental stuff. Onto a quick wrap of the month and some more exciting things to come in December!

What I Did…

Another month, another bunch of awesome books, and amazing shows. I was so excited to talk about Only Murders in the Building (why isn’t Season 2 here yet?!) and I had the best time with the books I chose as well. All Systems Red is a masterpiece of snark and science-fiction, wrapped up in a sweet, little novella package, and I am already eyeing the nearest box-set of their adventures for my wish list. The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency was a bit of a departure from my usual genre, but it was warm and cozy and the perfect way to end my reading month.

I also want to make special mention of all the awesome prompts I got to explore with the Top Five Tuesday blog meme, created by Shanah @Bionic Book Worm, and now hosted by Meeghan @Meeghan Reads. Meeghan is an amazing book blogger who creates some fantastic prompts every single week and I always have a great time with them. Check out her reviews too, if you haven’t already.

(And if you feel like it, check out my other Top Five Tuesday posts too!)

What Comes Next…

As I mentioned in an update way back in October, there are some changes to come. (Dun dun DUN!)

After the experience that was NaNoWriMo 2021, it will be nice to get back into things here. My goal for this month is really to set myself up for success in the new year, with more posts and, hopefully, more reviews as well.

Like I’ve said before I do have a plan (sort of), and with any luck I’ll be all set to deliver some great content in the new year. And hopefully the rest of this year too.

What I’m Looking Forward To…

Just like in last month’s wrap up, I’ve listed a bunch of amazing titles releasing in December that I’m incredible excited for, and that I’ll hopefully be able to grab before the end of 2021.

Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee: The third book in the Green Bone Saga which I still desperately need to start reading. And it already has a spectacular rating on Goodreads, so you know it’s going to be good! What exactly is holding me back? Sleep? Ridiculous.

The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska: A fantasy story that features two sorceresses competing for the hand of a prince, AND it’s an enemies-to-lovers f/f romance? Sold!

The Liar’s Knot by M.A. Carrick: This is the second in the Rook and Rose series and I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on it. And the previous book. Because I haven’t started this series yet either. I know, I have a problem.

The Excalibur Curse by Kiersten White: Yet another series I want to read, but haven’t yet. I’m feeling so attacked right now. But the third book in the Camelot Rising series promises to be a thrilling conclusion to an already thrilling series. I swear I’ll get to this soon!

Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth by Catherine McIlwaine (Editor): Moving on to something I have actually read about before. Tolkien: the Maker of Middle-earth promises to be an in-depth look at the amazing, enormous, complicated creative undertaking that was Tolkien’s creation and enduring legacy. It sounds like a world-builder’s dream and I am here for it. (Hint, hint, Santa!)

Kiss of the Selkie: A Little Mermaid Retelling by Tessonja Odette: Retelling fairytales is probably my favourite trend in books right now, and I am so excited for this one in particular. It is part of a series, Entangled with the Fae (and no I haven’t read the others yet, hush!) but it’s a complete stand-alone, so it’s perfect for us to hop in and enjoy. But I will definitely be picking up the others too.

I told you I have a problem!!!

Thank you so much for reading everyone. I hope you had a fantastic November and that the month ahead is even better.

Have a Happy December!
