Well, unfortunately, life got a little bit in the way for me this month.
Between the holiday season, sending off all my gifts on time, and the world being pretty much on fire at the moment, I wasn’t able to finish my complete TBR list for December. But I still managed to post at least three reviews! So not too bad at least! And we’ll have five books to look forward to in January.
So Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! At least it’s not 2020!
Enjoyed a lot of great books this month, and some great surprises as well. Not all the books I’d been hoping to get through, but a break over the holidays was just what I needed! Hopefully you guys found a few books you enjoyed as well!
European Travel for the Monstrous Gentlewoman by Theodora Goss by Theodora Goss
Series: The Athena Club #2
Published: July 10, 2018
Publisher: Saga Press
Rating: 3/5
A tale of far off places and daring rescues, this sequel to Theodora Goss’s debut novel will definitely be enjoyed by fans of the series, even if it doesn’t quite recapture the intrigue of the first.
The Reluctant Queen by Sarah Beth Durst
Series: The Queens of Renthia #2
Published: July 4, 2017
Publisher: Harper Voyager
Rating: 4.5/5
A slow burning story of wonder and terror in equal measures, I absolutely loved everything about this book, and my only real complaint was that it ended at all! Some readers might find it a bit slow in places, and you do need to get through the first book before you can enjoy this, but this is an incredible improvement and I had a ton of fun reading it. This is a definite favourite for me!
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
Series: The Gentleman Bastards #1
Published: June 27, 2006
Publisher: Spectra
Rating: 5/5
An absolute masterpiece. The Lies of Locke Lamora is a story as witty, cunning, and cut throat as it’s protagonist and I cannot wait to finish the rest of this stunning series. Definitely my pick for favourite book I’ve reviewed this year!
Well that’s it for December and 2020 as a whole. I can’t say I’ll miss this past year, but it did get me started on this little blog, and helped me to meet so many amazing readers. Let’s hope for a better year and more amazing books to be read.
My TBR for January is listed below. Let me know what you guys think!

Thank you so much for reading! Happy New Year!
